Licence information¶
This page explains what you may do with what you get from AI Explained Lab. It applies together with the Terms & Conditions.
AI applications are not on sale yet
The licences for AI applications below take effect when the first app goes on sale. Each app's ZIP will also contain the full licence text, with your name and order number.
AI applications (source code)¶
Every AI application comes with one of two licences, depending on the edition you choose.
Personal licence¶
Included with the Learner and Career editions.
You may:
- use the code to learn, and change it as much as you like;
- run it for yourself, on your own computers and servers;
- show it in your portfolio and in interviews, including on GitHub in a private repository (or a public one once you've made your own substantial changes).
You may not:
- resell, share or publish the source code, as-is or as a template;
- use it in work for clients or in a commercial product.
Commercial licence¶
Included with the Developer edition.
Everything in the personal licence, plus you may use the code in your own commercial products and in projects for clients. You still may not resell or redistribute the source code itself, as-is or as a template or starter kit.
Licences are per person¶
A licence belongs to the person who bought it. A team needs one licence per developer working with the code.

PDF guides and cheat sheets¶
- Free resources may be downloaded, printed and shared unchanged, with credit. They may not be sold.
- Paid PDFs come with a personal, non-transferable licence. See Terms, section 4.
